Very convenient! Nice welding bench, too! You may have already thought of this, but you might want to rig some sort of cover plate (possibly an extension of the bench top?) over the welder to protect it from sparks/slag/grinder dust, etc.

@Blue Chips Thanks! Yes, I'm pleased with the bench (I did a review of it) and finally getting round to making some hold down clamps for the 28mm holes; the vast majority of clamps in the UK/Europe are 16mm.

I never do any grinding, flux-core MIG or stick welding inside the workshop; there's a large overhang just outside the door where I can do all that!

Good review of the bench! 28mm here in the US is quite common for larger industrial benches, while the smaller benches are often set up for 16mm/5/8" tooling., with exceptions for both. I see that you're already set up for making adapters with your lathe. As to grinding and other messy activities, it's nice that you have a sheltered outdoor area to do most of that in. I try to do most of the messy stuff like grinding outdoors when weather permits. I find that I often end up doing some grinding on something I've already jigged up on the welding table, since I sometimes forget to chamfer an edge, or there's the occasional messed-up weld that needs some attention, so I sometimes grind it in place rather than re-jig everything. For smaller messy jobs, I have a built-in steel-topped bench with a fairly powerful exhaust fan in the wall right next to it, which extracts a good deal of the dust from grinding, as well as most welding fumes.

Tab and slot on plasma is hit and miss

I finished off the wiring to the downlighter above the new beer engine I fitted yesterday, added a beer menu on the cellar/brewery door, fixed the PC next to the cinema screen, upgraded the software on the pellet boiler, took the dog for a good walk over the moors, now about to settle down and have a beer in the cinema and watch a good movie.

Something I’ve been tripping over materials for months, finally found a bit of time to stick them all together.

25t capacity, need to manufacture the plates for the parts to sit on but otherwise complete. Might give it a coat of paint but it’s not high on my list of priorities...
150mm channel with 1” pins, hopefully it’ll stay in one piece. Weighs a chuffin ton! Couldn’t lift it onto the bench in one, had to split it down.

Threaded bush machines out to match the jack body, tacked to a backing plate which is tacked to the upper beams. Shouldn’t need anything too substantial as it’s all in compression during use.

luckily I have a 70 year old drill so the 26mm clearance holes were nice an easy to drill, and unlike modern Chinese drills it has the capacity to go right through without having to drill a pilot in the bottom and lift the table up every time for the depth!

Had a good amount of weight on it already but I can’t load it up because I don’t have anything substantial enough!

Some rainwater storage capacity,relevant as there’s 5 of us and on a meter,although we’re at a farm address,it all adds up. I didn’t have the correct diameter tube for the overflow,hence the sleeved in copper 15 mm.

You might already know this but if you can show that you do not discharge your rainwater into the foul sewer, you can ask for a small reduction on your water bill.

Nice, I need to do similar only I don't have the materials hanging around or a mahoosive drill press.

A few houses down had mains pipe leak in garden. Water supply didnt bill him for it, but Thames water use the readings too, he had a massive bill from them for surface drainage? Even tho it would just be running down short hill into the local pond.
