I first forged a splayed end on the bars for a screw mounting, then made a crank to keep them on centre line, the top end was drilled & tapped for screwing into the half round.
Nice nick. Always been interested in your work. Finished my latest attempt at a phone case. It's an improvement over my last attempt, but I'm still picking faults with it. I'll give it a test run in the real world for a while before altering the design.
This is my second attempt at dyeing leather. I put it out on the decking a couple of days ago to dry in the sun. A while later I hear a commotion outside the window. A crow had picked it up and was running up and down the deck with it in its mouth. I shooed it away and luckily it dropped the case, but not without leaving a black mark on the back which I wasn't able to rub off. Later that day when it is safely sitting beside me on the desk I pick it up to find what looks like a pen mark on the front. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?? Today the punches arrived to make the holes for the studs, that was the final job. I may put a credit card slot in the back of the case and a hole at the top for an earphone jack.

The leather is quite soft and it will wear in, so not too hard now. The flap may tear over time, I'll just have to see how it goes. I've covered the studs on the inside of the case with a bit of tape for now to stop it rubbing against the phone screen, but I'll glue a thin strip of leather as a longer term solution.
Neats Foot oil will keep it as soft & supple as a baby's bum , but it will darken it & you'll get a well worn polished leather patina if you use it .
When you make your next case put the studs in before you mould the leather , make it over size so you can glues & stitch a chamois or other soft leather lining right across the whole rectangle of leather to stop any scratching of the screen . Once you have got the stretching & forming done , sow it up again , then cut off the first stitching
Hope you've got a filter in there, thr graphite vanes in Procon pumps get shredded by bits of cack in the water. Also a nice corrosion inhibitor: Comet xray systems use Procon and insist on VW car antifreeze otherwise the warranty's void!
90 notes I recal the one for my Volvo t5 costing about 7 years back.
I just made a big mess on the driveway dropping all the fluids in my pick up!
ha ha i usually end up laying it it too when i flush the rad block and matrix no other wayI dropped the coolant outside, reversed into the shed out of the rain, pulled another pipe and spent the next two hours in a pool of coolant...
