Insoles for my boots, two layers of felt, from a vehicle lining company's skip, one layer of PVC banner materiel from printers skip ( stops them bunching up ) bit of spray glue. 10 mins work.

Some scrap round bar produced this - intended for cutting holes in thin sheet. It works after a fashion, but I'll need to grind a dedicated cutting tool for it.....

Nice, Some trepanning tools have a small extended "nose" that fits into a pre-drilled pilot hole, I made a smaller one long time ago for cutting holes in some copper sheet, Just made the cutter from an Allen key, ground to suit of course, Worked a treat,

Not much metal other than the zipper but plenty of stitching. A large (metre square and 250mm deep) dog bed I made for my sister's dog who has arthritis in the hip. 8" of memory foam and 2" of quilting - hopefully that's comfy!

Finished my latest attempt at a phone case. It's an improvement over my last attempt, but I'm still picking faults with it. I'll give it a test run in the real world for a while before altering the design.

This is my second attempt at dyeing leather. I put it out on the decking a couple of days ago to dry in the sun. A while later I hear a commotion outside the window. A crow had picked it up and was running up and down the deck with it in its mouth. I shooed it away and luckily it dropped the case, but not without leaving a black mark on the back which I wasn't able to rub off. Later that day when it is safely sitting beside me on the desk I pick it up to find what looks like a pen mark on the front. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?? Today the punches arrived to make the holes for the studs, that was the final job. I may put a credit card slot in the back of the case and a hole at the top for an earphone jack.

Good morning gents, not just today but last three days. Completed this 906H loader and initial test all seems to be ok. Arrived on Tuesday to find a similar sized Volvo loader waiting for me along side the Cat. It also needed front bushes and pins, completed that in one day with help.

Full test run in the morning tomorrow and if all is OK I can go home

The leather is quite soft and it will wear in, so not too hard now. The flap may tear over time, I'll just have to see how it goes. I've covered the studs on the inside of the case with a bit of tape for now to stop it rubbing against the phone screen, but I'll glue a thin strip of leather as a longer term solution.
