Did this last week:
Steel frame, wooden treads and deck. Liked enough they want another one on the otherside of the house.
House being extended out and up. Shallow loft is now a full story.

Should add that the shed to the left is coming down, then I can finish the last bits of railing at that end and they didn't want intermediate bars on the stair rail. Platform is 1mt by 1.80mt, the stair .80 wide. She is an artist and the room above is her studio. Likes to sit on the 'terrace' and have a smoke.
The frame is two bits of 80x8 flat bar with a 20mm gap. Last time I used 180x8mm but not in stock and this looks nicer, 'lighter'. Bit more hassle, but not much.
Second one, a bit smaller, is going in Thursday.

Do you have to have any back stops in the steps to stop a foot on the wet wood slipping through ?

Started making a stainless boat trailer wider.
Been a while since I have done any stick welding but very happy with the performance of the wee EWM, also the Superon 316 rods seem nice.
Most welds today have been vertical up, a couple of pics of the welds that the EWM and Superon can do.
Slag chipped off.
Quick brush to get the oxide coating off.

Impressive vertical welding did you use any of the pulse you where testing out or just standard , big projects like these will get even better with all the practise

Just the normal slow weave as it is not pulse.
I think the pulse is more suited to butt weld vertical up and possibly outside corners. Might have a few to do on this so if I do I will definitely try the pulse for them.
