I've done the strip & bolt crop the metal work too but my metal work went to the scrappies when I'd got a couple of cwt together .About a year or so ago a neighbour asked me if I would like a free... "YES!!" I interject... sofa bed.
Friend was staying over on occasion so it would be handy despite taking up precious room. Cut to the chase, the mattress inside it was rubbish and would collapse to nothing. I took the sofa apart for the materials, mostly the foam cushions. Eventually managed to dispose of the steel framework, coverings etc. but the mattress persisted.
Never mind, I'll chop it up into bits and sneak the parts out in the rubbish over a couple of collections. NEVER AGAIN! My god that was a chore. The thing became enormous. A zillion useless springs clipped onto thin metal strips. Too fragile to cut with a grinder, everything clipped together with fiddly bits of bent steel I had to chop it apart with bolt croppers. Even then the sections of springing took up a huge volume. I had to wrap them individually, tie them up, stuff into a bag and vacuum form it to hide it in that weeks rubbish collection.
It took forever to dispose of.
