5mmWhat thickness?

You need to chuck that up and go at it with a sharper insert for a better finish.Decided I would make a Yule log this year rather than buy one. Never tried it before so thought I would have to have a practise.
End result, not bad for a first attempt. The actual one will be covered in butter cream etc. but I don't need to practise that.

It was the lack of folding and anodising capability that made me buy one.@Hood
I was a little surprised when you bought one initially, but thought it may have been more cost effective.
Interesting, I first noticed the shadow on the roll up door, it appears as a portrait silhouette.
Will probably go with powder coating although I have heard horror stories about that. I got the stainless gates I made powder coated and they are fine after a few years and so far after a year or two some aluminium handrails I made have been fine as well.Anodising can be a bit hit and miss, fortunately Mansfield is not far from me.
Have you thought of just a quick Scotchbrite and leave?
I have also found the Simoniz Tough Black is good and use the Satin for a quick durable finish on my bike bits which need painting.
As its a one of a kind, consider Jeweling it, or as you call it on this side of the pond, engine turn it ?Will probably go with powder coating although I have heard horror stories about that. Nah, would maybe look good on a hardly driveable but don't think it would look good on a matt black AT.As its a one of a kind, consider Jeweling it, or as you call it on this side of the pond, engine turn it ?
Ahhh yes, quiet cool.Nah, would maybe look good on a hardly driveable but don't think it would look good on a matt black AT.

and I was about to reply you look good in redand she would kill me if she knew I posted it.
If you are making them to sell go with powder coating or leave plain so the end user can decide. Will probably go with powder coating although I have heard horror stories about that.
