Just back from a run on the bike, the shims were amazing, the throttle is now what it should be like.
Makes everything from starting, slow speed manoeuvring, slow speed running, going down bumpy roads, absolutely everything better. No guessing where the free play will end and the throttle start, now it starts as soon as you start turning.
Went into the workshop when I was out testing them and made up a couple of wee clips to put in instead of the ice cream tub shims
Spacers are like this.

Them fitted into the old throttle grip, will fit them to the bike this evening.

Some swarf
Only one cutter was harmed in the making of the swarf (pesky clearance/retraction heights in F360!), and it fits.
Just need to countersink the bolt holes from the opposite side, trim the two oversize sides, machine up the bars for in the slots, and I might get the first servo motor bolted onto the big lump of iron that's been sat in the workshop for the past year or ten...

I made a "Paul Sellers" router plane:
Not much to say really: unusually for me I didn't change the design really, although I did make several of the bits in a different way to the approach Paul Sellers used in his video (for example I cut the bottom face of the top wood bit whereas Paul cut both top faces - doing it my way meant I could use the pillar drill to make sure the holes were square). I made two of the cutters while I was at it (I figured that, having made the angled cut for the bevel I might as well use both resulting pieces), so I've got a spare and won't have to sharpen as often! I've already got a router plane (and I used it to cut the bottom of the groove for the cutter), but two might be useful sometimes... maybe? The sapele inserts are there to make it look good of course: nothing to do with drilling holes in the wrong place or anything like that
I haven't tried it yet as it's only had one coat of oil so far; I just put it together to take the photos.

I decided on a design mod of the small clips I made for the throttle on the Africa Twin, it takes a bit of the axial play out as well as all of the radial play. The axial play doesn't really matter but it does feel a bit better with less.
Anyway I thought I might as well make a load up just in case anyone else wants to buy them, so milled them out of a bit of 50mm acetal. There are 10 pairs there.
Put in the lathe and parted off then trimmed into individual clips with a Stanley knife.
Here they are, calliper for scale (ignore reading, it was just at that).

Today I made twice as much work for myself. 
Glued the last dining chair back together last night, went out to get it this morning and the glue has dried like white emulsion. Turns out my glue doesn't like the cold so it needs knocking apart, cleaning and the gluing again, indoors this time.
