Using CURA to slice? Try experimenting with inclusive/exclusive slicing tolerance. Inclusive will make any layer include every part of the model (go big) or exclusive only builds the layer to fit inside your model (go small). Yeah it's a proper head bender. By default it's set to "middle" so the printed layer is the middle average of whatever slope your model has remembering that your printed layers are effectively a sort of biscuit edge shape and won't follow a slope.

It's basically a stop that goes into the bench and allows you to push stuff up against it. My bench has holes at 90° to one another so it can also be used to help when cutting or clamping things square. Lots of different uses for dogs, but probably the main one is just to stop a board sliding around while planing the top of it by hand.

Shooting boards are for planing end grain and making sure that the ends are square (and/or mitred) to the edges.

A simple rack for storing hex-shank auger bits. I do like being able to change colour for the last few layers to get easy-to-read embossed text.

I had to print this diagonally across the bed to get it to fit.

Heat for a short period but that won't help with shaped parts much. That texture looks like your TPU is wet and needs drying out, the surface should be fairly glossy normally.

Tbh it printed like this straight out of the bag when it first came. RS Pro black filament.

Numbers do in fact print and quite well too. If we could just up the overall quality. Maybe a settings issue?

What layer height are you printing at?

I've never used that filament, only Ninjaflex which can be sensitive to nozzle temp - might be worth turning it down a little if the surface looks blistered.

TPU can usually be printed pretty hot, any blistering as you raise the temperature is generally moisture in it.

Fresh out of the bag doesn't mean a lot unfortunately, a lot of the cheaper manufacturers store it unprotected or even water bath it when they draw the filament just for speed/costs sake and it comes with moisture absorbed from the start, seen it a lot.

More storage things (one of the main reasons I got the printer to be honest). This time a simple holder for a couple of adaptors for holding hex shank bits more securely in a brace:

Completely gratuitous given that a bit of plywood with a couple of slots in (the size of the narrow shanks) would have done perfectly well, but it was quite satisfying having a go at modelling the taper (which is different on each adaptor) and getting a perfect fit first time. Cross-section:

Wiring cover plate for rear lights. Only took 3 iterations to get it right but they’re only 30m prints.
Could I have done it with a bit of wood? Sure. A cut, routered out, drilled, counter sunk and chamfered bit of wood. Sounds like a lot of work to me.

A mini mitre block for cutting aluminium angle. Seems to work okay.
