Yes. Clean up isnt onerous:
5 mins "drip time" on the machine.
Swish in meths.
10 mins in ultrasonic cleaner (I use flash floor cleaner)
Cut off supports.
Leave in full sun for an hour or so, turning a couple of times.

Plus, a rough guess, based on the attempts I've made with FDM: it's twice as fast to actually print.
And I don't actually think it's that much more expensive: by the time I've figured in failed prints.

I believe you can buy 3D printing resin with added Vitamin D to account for the lack of Sun 'upt North...

I love the fact I can knock up a design like this in 10 minutes and then wander off and come back a few hours later and it's made. I don't have to think about ways of making weird and wonderful hole shapes as the printer doesn't care what shape the hole is. These holes are rounded rectangles that taper down at 3°:

This sort of thing was one of the main reasons I got a 3D printer and I'm loving it.

Just bought myself a second mars2 resin printer.
Maybe not the best on the market, but it was cheap enough at 60 quid, including 2x500g of resin -
plus I already have plenty of spares, and all my models are already optimised for it.

First job for it to print all the bits I need to (hopefully) get the anet a8 FDM printer usable, then all three will be going full time into paying the bills...

tbh, I'm just about sick to death of FDM - I've _never_ managed to get a decent print with it. unlike resin printing where I've only had _one_ failure - and that was user error.
it might be up for sale, soon, to put towards another mars (or even a saturn)

What do you use the resin printer(s) for? I looked at them when I got my FDM one (which has been easy to use and very reliable, but then it wasn't cheap), but I struggled to see the point. Most of the examples of their use I saw was printing little models of computer game characters or similar stuff - I couldn't really understand the point of that . Do you use yours for workshop related things?

arty stuff so far - although I've printed a few rasp-pi, esp32, arduino, and weimos d1 cases.

I think that each type of printing suits different uses. For arty stuff I believe that resin is where it's at, but for functional parts it has to be FDM.

I do know that resin is too brittle when in narrow cross section - I printed a couple of din-rail raspi mounts which failed on the "spring".
the cases themselves work perfectly, though: i suppose it depends what you're doing? - and actually designing stuff for resin specifically (eg, bigger cross-sections, fillets, etc)

I was hoping resin would be good for stuff like locking wheels.
My main problem is the weakness in cross section of FDM when printed in the wrong orientation.

It's usually in the most convenient orientation as well. Lol

I'm experimenting with making very VERY detailed stencils: way beyond what is possible with vinyl cutting. plus patterns to cast brass plaques.
resin is VERY good for flat (say 10mm thick) models: print times can be sub 10 minutes, even at 4K resolution - which I don't have: but it ONLY depends upon number of layers (and to a lesser extent layer height due to curing time), NOT layer size.

eg. This R2D2 "tiki" is around 6in x 3in (max size) and about 3/4in thick- it takes about 15 minutes to print, and has resolution high enough to see wood grain.
Turned 90° and scaled to just under 50%, I can print 3 of them (at 3in x 1.5in) in 15 minutes.
friend of mine gets £4 each for them, unpainted, at the local craft fair (50% commission for me)- thats around £1.90 each, gross profit - and she can sell 20 or 30 in a day (3hrs print time).
not enough to make me rich - but easily pays for a week's petrol.
Painted, I can get £12-£20 each, but I paint for fun - I don't want to do it as a job. (even if I can paint a dozen an hour)

can you print it hollow, and fill will with pixy resin? that can add a lot of strength.
or even use the FDM print as a pattern to make a latex/silicone/POP/aluminium(!) mould to cast a stronger resin/alloy/plastic version?

one of my "this year" projects is to 3d print some models to re-cast in aluminium and/or concrete

What paint do you use. Grandson wants multicoloured prints. Lol. Paint is much cheaper and he can do that himself.. just need to get him off his phone as much as possible now.

more "under the radar" - one of the reasons why we don't sell them on FB - although other people sell the same prints on etsy, and ebay, without issues
