more "under the radar" - one of the reasons why we don't sell them on FB - although other people sell the same prints on etsy, and ebay, without issues

I had a guy I was selling vinyl too. He used to do that with JLS T-shirts etc and the cheeky git had the nerve to say I was spyng on his laptop.
This was after he kneeled on it in the night out of his face on drugs breaking the screen. I managed to install Team viewer and save all his files and put them onto a CD. The thanks I got was him stealing the laptop I lent him. I will never learn.

I would not mind but it was mainly Black Country sayings and music Bands etc he had on there...lol

Guess that was the cannabis causing that or perhaps he was just a "dick".

What paint do you use. Grandson wants multicoloured prints. Lol. Paint is much cheaper and he can do that himself.. just need to get him off his phone as much as possible now.

I also have a few more expensive ones from Hobbycraft/the works (which I inherited, not bought).


Home bargains meths + water as thinner. (Meths stops the water extending drying time)

B&m bargain "turner+grey" aerosol "grey primer" as undercoat.

I also have the odd bottle of "daler+Rowney" inks (also from "the range"), although I don't use them often. I prefer to just thin the paints to use as washes.



Buy good brushes! Humbrol ones from eBay are good- a size 0, a 2, and a 1/4" "flat".
Although I have a few extras, that I barely ever use.
(Again - inherited, not bought).




A thin Sharpie/fine line marker is really good for erm... "Fine lines"... Like Spiderman's costume...

Pot noodle pots are great as water pots...
And 40mm solvent weld pvc pipe cut at 15° makes a really good paint rack - hot glued to a board so it hangs on the wall. (I used 4mm correx floor protector)

(If you buy "push fit" pvc by accident. then you can use a soldering iron to weld it)

Sorry to derail the thread to reply but I've just got my skr mini e3 v3.0 working after much anguish and gnashing of teeth so if I can be of any help let me know

I think I will be contacting you if I get the urge to build this thing up. I remember the palaver with the Anet. It came with Marlin firmware which wasn't much cop (no sensor burn out protection). Had a few nasties with the sensor dropping out and a red hot extruder. When I tried to flash to Repetier I found a corrupted boot section...so I had to buy an interface card to get it flashed.
I've bought another Anet A8 (2yrs back) just for the steppers and display and possibly psu. Rest to be ditched as it's a weaker light weight version.
So I bought the Skr pro v1.1, 3x filament extruder and stepper drivers. Designed a frame

A selection of (strong) jointers that I designed for my prototype 3D printer, which have many uses . Size test using printer test STL and scale as required (shrinkage, printer accuracy etc.) The printer WILL have spool compartment to keep moisture out. Design is on going. Belt drive has 3...

There was an issue with firmware for the pro version at the time which put me off. Maybe resolved. Would prefer to flash it to Repetier.
I'm in the process of organising my workshop so that I can set my electronics section up again...I've been in that process for the last 15yrs..so don't hold your breath.

where did you get the Ali extrusion for the frame??

The later Citroen DS have a 3 dial dash. The speedo is marked in either mph or more commonly kph.
I have designed and printed a translucent ring which sits in the speedo hole, showing mph or kph.
I'm touring France soon, my speedo is mph, hence the need for a kph ring.
I used to swap over the speedo heads. I'm sure this would invalidate the insurance.
It took umpteen prototypes because at rest the needles point in different directions.

Connecting thing in some nice green Geetech PETG. This for my covered garden frame thingy that I've yet to decide upon as in shape size etc. 20% infill. Hopefully strong enough to take the 25mm box section members.

With stuff like that where strength is more important than looks, I'd print them at crazy angles on the bed so that your layer lines do not align with the obvious fault lines.

More workshop 3D printer thingies. Firstly a vacuum adaptor for the router:

Then this template (which was somewhere near the maximum size I can print):

and finally a bright purple extended base for the router (which I then proceeded to drop and crack the corner off, but it still does the job):

The template is used thus... drill two rows of evenly spaced 3 mm holes:

Put some 3 mm pins in four of the holes and add the template:

Attack with the router (in three stages using the spinny depth stop thing) using the guide bush to register on the template:

Take the template off, turn it round, put it back on the pins:

Rout out the rest, then rinse and repeat:

Test fit of 3 diamond plates and a bit of leather. The diamond plates are slightly different lengths to one another so one is very slightly looser than the others, but I don't think it'll be a problem and I can always shim it if it is.

Now I need to decide what size to trim it down to and then probably oil it with "Mike's Magic Mix" or Danish Oil. The leather will be held in place just at one end with some screws (so I can lift up the near end if I want to strop on the edge); the others will just rely on gravity. I haven't decided yet whether I want the plates (and leather) to be proud or flush, but I decided to rout the pockets flush and then I can adjust by fitting sticky feet or (in the case of the leather) a backing board. It's very easy to lift the plates out so I'm leaning towards leaving them flush at the moment. Also most of the use of having it raised is to do the back of chisels and such-like and (after the initial flattening) I'm more likely to do that with just a few rubs on my waterstone, which I'm keeping separate to this thing.
