I find the glass bed to be really good whatever. However it must be clean. My method is a scrub with hot water and washing up liquid, a hot rinse and then air dry. I found that any cleaning materials caused issues. Acetone should be good, but it melted the fibres in the kitchen roll and left deposits that way!

Try it perfectly clean, 60 for PLA, 89 for PETg and make sure that the bed is level. A sheet of 80gsm paper makes an excellent feeler gauge. Check the centre and all four corners repeatedly, adjusting until flat.

Magnetic bed with coated sprung steel plates are the way forward, along with a coat of 3DLAC (other options are available, but the £9 tin of known goodness has lasted me several years, so I'd rather recommend something that works, rather than a gamble with £2 hairspray/gluestick/PVA mixes that might contain things that cause more problems than they solve for a beginner)

All my glass beds are now tucked away in a drawer in the workshop, and will likely end up in the bin at some point.

It is pla, the bed was clean as it is brand new. Levelled with paper but have no idea as to its weight. I have upped the temp to 70c to see if it helps and will report back. I may just put the original bed back on as that worked with no adhesion problems!

I've had far more success with textured sprung steel than with glass.
Plus it makes part removal far easier. Lift bed of printer, bend, and the printer is ready to go with the next batch of parts without even cooling down.

Definitely.
I had an old Tevo Tornado - could never get things to work right.
Just bought an Elegoo Neptune 3d Max - huge printer. It just works straight out of the box. Sprung bed is awesome.
Just use a brim and turn up the layer thickness for the first few passes.

Made these over last 2 days for the JD Garage cnc plasma build
Used PETG for strength. Bit of stringing but nothing much.
Biggest lump used 333gm and got another to do!

We only ever clean the bed with IPA and let evaporate. Then 3D-Lac. No issues here. My lad tried paper as a gauge bug I use proper feeler gauges.

Don't need to coat the bed on the Neptune with anything even though it came with a free pritt stick
Haven't cleaned it either yet. Just a soft cloth and plastic scraper to remove any stringy bits!

My trusty Ender 3 made this today, well, today, yesterday and some of the day before...

Bearing block for the JD's Garage CNC Plasma table.

Printed in PETG, as flat as I could have hoped for and certainly the biggest thing I've ever printed by far - 100% infill as per instructions.

Is there a word for the anxiety which builds over the duration of a long 3d print?

Touch wood my new Neptune 3 MAX never seems to fail - even when we have several powercuts a day . Just starts on from where it stopped. The joys of living a forest! Going to stick it on a UPS though - very annoying!
