I find the glass bed to be really good whatever. However it must be clean. My method is a scrub with hot water and washing up liquid, a hot rinse and then air dry. I found that any cleaning materials caused issues. Acetone should be good, but it melted the fibres in the kitchen roll and left deposits that way!
Try it perfectly clean, 60 for PLA, 89 for PETg and make sure that the bed is level. A sheet of 80gsm paper makes an excellent feeler gauge. Check the centre and all four corners repeatedly, adjusting until flat.
