Had the same issue with my M300, gib in the taper attachment was AWOLJust need to sort out some backlash now. I thought it was the nut or thread on the cross slide but it seems to be the end float where it enters the taper turner. I am sure it won't take too long to fix.
slow n steady wins the race, safely.Tirfors are very safe and very controlled - you can feel what is going on. This is the baby one rated to 300kg lifting. My biggest one is rated to 3500kg lift. The firebrigade use them for lifting stuff off people when they are trapped.
They lift and lower in the same way. They are rather slow however![]()
Tirfors, Thanks guys. Another bit of kit that I can see would be very useful, But I don't need
To give people an example of just how powerful Tirfors are...
Now that would be nice!!!Could the Tirfor marketing department just clarify/confirm for any potential customers reading this that the machine only works with their own special rope (i.e. no-one should think you can poke any old bit of wire cable into one). Thanks.
What I want is a Tirfor that works with dyneema. It could use friction hitches instead of claws to grip the rope, but the auto-tending would be difficult, as would reverse.
That will be much faster though! I do like capstans!I started using capstans with a drill adapter I made

This made me damn lazy, we'd pilling loads of brash onto a tarpaulin then drag it with the winch. Amazing what 11mm static rope will load to, doubled up I was pulling out bloody big bits of timber.
But those tirfors are brilliant
Laziness breads innovationThat will be much faster though! I do like capstans!
Been looking for a 'green with envy' emoji but can't find one!Moving my 5000kg H20.
An absolute monster. My baby Tirfor was a huge help. The rollers are a fair bView attachment 373245it bigger than scaffolding poles. Saved them out of a skip years ago.
1 hour and we moved her about 70 feet.
Surprising how steerable rollers can be when you get the hang of it.
