It's hard to beat a capstan.This is what we’re using nowadays. I was meant to get a battery powered one but they were always on back order. The downside of this one is we have to drain the fuel after every use. Doesn’t get used every week and the fuel being left in them is gumming up the carbs very quickly. Powerful wee units

They are better for lots of reasonsHorses for courses, I prefer them for long pulls and because you can run rope through them.
but my land rover MK2 hydraulic winch was fantastic, could run it all day pulling timber.
