I was in Primary school in 63 shorts an all, home for 3 months lovely, good we had a delivery of coal just before Christmas.

I was in secondary school, the toilets were outside, frozen for a couple of months, you made sure you went before leaving home. I don’t recall the school being closed, just over the Christmas holls & that was it, none of this half inch of snow & the world stops then, you just got on with it.

But that doesn't suit the social engineering; to convince the less educated that climate has always not always been changing and always will, regardless of the taxes extracted in its name. They want every normal weather event to be frightening and regarded as proof that the end is nigh and more tax is needed. If they can remove a few dams and allow dried up riverbeds to regain their status too, well that's wonderful. The subsequent tragic loss of life from the resultant flooding is just more proof of wilful climate change.

Standard farm square baler should do the trick nicely.

nothing like the sound of water hitting ice when you get up for a pee in the middle of the night.

Getting up in the middle of the night for a pee ? Are you older than you are letting on ?

I vaguely remember '63, we spent the days in the kitchen, with a paraffin heater (Aladdin ?) and the gas cooker on, and snow against the window.

Had a two and a bit mile walk to school, and had to be nearly dead to be able to skive off. Even had to wear short trousers until the fourth year, even when it was snowing.

The absolute last thing that anyone wanted was a lift to school, you would never hear the end of it.

Short trousers and wellies - torture on the calves, I remember it well...
Had a trip up to Llyn Brianne today, road covered in places, but the Jag skated up there ok. Odly, the road down to the facility was almost clear, so I didn't have to walk down the slope..

Wales = Rain ... well in the south anyway

It hailed hard for a while in Carmarthen, & stayed cold enough to freeze hard on my wee van by the end of the day.
Cold, but nothing really to speak of.
