Didn't expect this scene when I opened the curtains this morning.

It's forecast to thaw this afternoon but it will provide plenty of amusement watching the antics of the local driving licence holders, most of whom struggle to drive properly on a clear summer's day, let alone in 6" of snow...

Up to Lochgilphead from us is fine, closer to the rest the whiter it got. For once I chose to be defeated and turned and went back home. Mrs Migmac was getting a bit twitchy !

Just spoke to one of my mates who delivered 24 pallets of coal to Campbeltown yesterday.

Apart from a smash at the top of the Thank and be Restful, as my dear old Mum insisted on calling it, and a Tesco wagon on its side, (somewhere near Inveraray?), he had a clear run until he hit the A68 on his way back to Wolsingham early this morning. Due to his trailer being empty much slipping and sliding ensued with numerous applications of diff-lock and the I-Shift transmission in his Volvo locked into manual to get up the steep banks between the A69 and Tow Law.

got up to a layer and was snowing till 8 am then turned to rain for most of day fortunately managed to get 3 outdoor buildings with underground supply put in and 2 car chargers fed underground 20 meters from house over the last 2 weeks . before the bad weather

I was at an Alpaca show today with some folk from up your neck of the woods, they chose to go the long way down the valley rather than over the top to Hexham at 5 am this morning.
We had a good covering about an inch when I left home at 6, just a slushy mess when I left Hexham at 5 to come home.

A few years ago we had a decent snow fall, but the main roads were clear so I got into work OK, about 10 minutes into the shift the supervisor comes in and asks me what the roads were like as xxxx (a BMW owner) had phoned in to say the roads were too bad to get in, I told the supervisor they were clear past the end of xxxx's road and the works bus service used the same road so xxxx could have walked up and caught it. xxxx got a verbal warning when he came in the following day
