This finally turned up today, just need some time now to have a play with it and find out how to use it properly as it has 3 times as many functions and settings than my old mft1552!

Same as I've used for years except the + after 1741.
I've spotted an EV setting so must be something to do with car charging points.
I use mine very very hard on site in rain, mud, heat etc and the Meggers do seem to last well, I'm back to a 1500 series at the moment as the newer one got swapped after re calibration. I prefer the 1500 though as they seem just a bit more reliable.
Our 1741's went back to Megger as they had a habit of showing 0 volts on live circuits if doing checks on L1, L2, L3 one after the other!
ie L1 live L2 live L3 dead but it was live! Very naughty. They had a software update, yours is probably fine as it a later model but worth remembering!
Their tech guy was very interested to here my story when he found out what was going on.

But the Elliott deserves decent bearings. I last replaced them in 1982 and it's had zero maintenance since then, so no complaints. I could have used the old ones but they're just a little bit rough. Fortunately the quill nose bearing didn't need replacing. They're £214

Who did you end up buying them off? I’m still in two minds whether to get hold of the ones for the mill before they are Non-existent

Local delivery office thought it looked better on their shelf than in my garage . "Attempted" delivery 4 times when I was in the house. Filled in a redelivery request 3 times and was ignored 3 times. After getting on to collect+ customer service, they said it was waiting for collection in depot.

Got it today, you posted on 14th may so a month give or take a few days. It wasn't Yodels fault (not directly) they sub out the work up here to Menzies distribution. Great at delivering papers and mags to shops but the parcel side not so much....

I bought 3 of those. They are pretty good, and have survived several suicide jumps off my workbench unscathed. I have now replaced them with a lovely storage drawer thingy I got from @winchman, so are they now going to see service holding various leather stamps and hole cutters.

They look OK, but watch out for fake Britool stuff... or perhaps it might be fairer to say 'Britool stuff made since they sold out to Facom'.
Usual clue is a slightly rough forging with a perfectly crisp Britool logo... as though someone stuck a generic blank in a CNC engraver

I’ve noticed similar stuff coming up on a local Farcebook page I frequent. (Damn - can’t locate it now - might have been pulled)

Been rooting out more parts for this today - got a pump, cheap caravan type from China - I checked the flow through the torch today, makes a litre a minute. The power supply I had - 12V 2A, an oil cooler which had been used as supplementary cooling on a mini (judjing by the brown stains), a 240V cooling fan. And finally some tin to mount it in.
Some questions if I may - what connectors do I need for the water pipes?

Helping Parents move today by taking a truck load of stuff they dug out of the loft destined for the tip.
Lots of pictures and photos and junk.
Decided to go through the stuff first to remove any family pictures from frames etc.. My and MrsGs wedding photo amongst them I'm sure they have others .....
But in a box of my Grandfathers stuff was this.

His presentation watch for 25 years service at Bulwark Transport Ltd. Awarded in 1976. All nicely engraved on the rear.
It's nothing flashy but too good for the tip. Gave it a gentle wind and it started. Will probably have to get it serviced once places are open. The strap shows it was well worn, so I plan to as well.

This Seiko fifty five fathoms was dropped off this morn by the postie!!

It's in much better condition than I thought it would be, The sellers pics were very grainy and out of focus!! He'd dropped it gradually from £190 to £135 or offers!, I offered £120 but paid a fiver more!!

It came boxed and with two Nato's and the original (Like new) bracelet, The original dial also came with it too!
