Today I acquired a day to my self (well nearly)



I finished the dec in the bedroom that was instructed to do]

There are more pics but I'm giving out pics of my bedroom

A fix of a mates pet camera usb port (not the greatest but it works and I cant find a replacement socket so that's the best I could do to make it last a few more years)

Pics are before the clean up they do look better than this and had an message all up and working (as I could not test as its connected to his phone)

A repair to my possibly new stick and tig thermal arc welder

There will be a thread on this in the fourm are more work needed

A working bike the gear where shot and changing gears was a real pain

This what was the rear mech and chain was covered in the ride to work is covered in dust and must have stuck to the chain and bits and gone solid even jet washing did not remove took 2.5 hours to take apart and sonic clean the parts and reset up


And I'm now off to cook tea

Another Edwards folder, not a box pan this time just a normal one. About three foot wide. Needs some work.

Also acquired an 8 or 10” rotary table. Unknown brand, old, covered in rust. May be goosed but won’t know until I get it in the citric.

I read all of Herbert's books way back in the early 80's and this 40th Anniversary edition popped up in my recommended list whilst browsing Amazon so I purchased it to read again.
Any other Herbert fans on the forum?

So which one mentioned Theydon Bois? Someone on here said they lived there - remember reading the name, but not exactly which book, or even author, pretty sure it was Herbert though?

I got a nice size parts bin on wheels but it is about the size of a bath, so i am ok incase i need a temporary bath.

I think for now it is going into storage as an emergency fish tank for the koi just incase we ever need to isolate any, but i found a perfect citric tank recently (see below) ideal for larger objects such as engines, but the big one would take an axle..

This may be going back.

that not good

is there a possabilty they did not know or is it just you took it apart (for a reason eg it was not running right)

can see a things that bug you thread about the returns on this if it comes about

My next project.

Morris 1000, 1966 needs a good tidy up, bit of welding and a respray. Going to start stripping it tonight.

Scored a few Thomas compressors. A Bit rough, but I'll see if I can make 1 good 'un out of 4.View attachment 234255

So 3 are working, 2 are actually pumping compressed air, the third working one is pumping but it's missing a cylinder head. The last out of the four is not turning, the motor hums so I think it's snookered.

Any suggestions for a use before they go in donedeal?

Not technically today, but in the last few days, a quadruple bypass and a boat load of medicine to take. It's not a painless process, start with a heart attack and swiftly follow by having your breastbone split, lots of reworkings of internals including having loads of gunk being suctioned out of the lungs. Nail back together and be looked after by the hard pressed staff of the NHS and you have one very much alive former smoker.
