Can't, at least not within the range it has to adust. The "insert" is loose at one end, and had something that looks like thistle mortar holding it in. Will have to make something to get it near correct and within adjustability range.
How much is a new vial? The markings are a bit grubby..

View attachment 242965 Bought this on ebay, 18 inch. The vial is out by 1/4 inch... is it worth persevering with it, maybe even scraping the bottom face once I get the level set?

Lovely and of course it's worth fixing.

Nowhere near as big as yours but very useful all the same.
Setting them is simple as the vark says.

Some bits to service the Jeep, after failing to get an air filter to fit the XJ locally it had to be eBay



The engine is minging, EGR was leaking and made a huge mess so this is to try and get the engine cleanish, was recommended by a mate but on arrival it looks like it is just caustic soda

That looks very similar to the military's Bedford RL series that was prevalent when I was in the mob. Learned to drive and took my test in one. Dad used to do his crust when I was out in his car practising as I constantly stalled - considerable difference in the length of the clutch pedal strokes was the cause. I've never forgotten the quick method for replacing the front tracta joint seals on the 4WD versions.

Yet another butcher who has been practicing the black art of tracta joint seal replacement ?

Today I made space by filling another space.
@Dr.Al Gave me a vice, it will be donated to a MIS. But the current situation means it can not go to a new home.

So it is lodging with me.

So a bit of oak and time.



This was hand made, no power tools. It was very early.
The finish is warm Teak oil.



Sitting it her new Temp. home.
Again No power tool was used to fit the Raw plugs and screws.

So.



Hand operated Raw-Plug Hammer drill was used.
