Need one in a few weeks and my 305mm saw is currently wedged under the scaffold in the lockup after the poles went through the floor.

Haven't got the time to gut the place ATM.

Aye it seems spot on.

Fence is solid. Sliding mitre table is a nice touch

Need to change the blade over as it's a multi purpose for Ali wood and plastic ATM.

Prepare to be disappointed if you are used to a good saw!

We bought one for the mens shed after reading all the good reviews. It was used a few dozen times, set in a corner and we then went & bought an old startrite cast iron table saw.

Basically the evolution is so flimsy it's impossible to cut anything accurately. Maybe ok for very light material but if you try to rip anything heavy you can actually see the thin blade bending. A thicker blade might help things but the motor might not be powerful enough to drive it. The fence is also flimsy & will bow out unless you clamp something behind it for support. As poor as my £99 Lidl table saw is it is better than this effort costing 3x more!

Found the fence to be reasonably solid.
How hard do you push against it Arnold.

There's a decent blade sitting in the hall to go on it.

It's replacing an old 10" Clarke woodworker that finally died. I'm not going to dispute old iron is good but you can't wheel a wadkins out of the van and Into a customer's garage for the day.
If/when I have space il be looking for a big saw but that's far in the future.

For now I've got something I can wheel in the van to rip firrings or for repeat cuts of boards when the need arises

If you were testing it on the stock blade I'm not surprised you didn't have a good experience.

I wouldn't even entertain trying to cut wood with that. Il keep it in the van for ripping down uPVC facias etc

2 of our members were chippies & they said it was the worst 'site saw' they had ever used. Another thing you will find that once folded down it is too wide to fit through a standard door! Great thinking Evolution!
You would have been better looking for a used dewalt or makita, plenty out there with a lot of chippies going over to cordless plus covid slowing things down.

Just out of curiosity, how will you be using it as a 'life-line'? In my personal opinion, snap shackles are similar to playing Russian roulette, unless it's for a dog lead or washing line.

I bought it not as a life line but for general use when needed. The label gave me an indication that it was a quality product when I checked out the Company online. The only rope I could find locally is the imported rubbish. Wasn't really interested in the snap shackle, took a magnet to it and it is brass, not plated. I'm having some pipe scaffold erected in the near future as I'm going to reroof the front of our project house when the neighbour does his, so some of the line might be used for hauling up a bucket or materials; I do have a shive wheel for the purpose.

Hospital recommended using a stress ball or such, to build my forearm back up. So was driven into town, managed to walk half way round the shop before I had to sit down, less than 100m inc the walk from the carpark. Back home now, glued to the sofa.

couldn’t find a ball so bought a rex instead.

Anyone looking for a deep cycle battery for the Figaro (or Micra k10 with jap terminals).... This one is a perfect fit....it's also the only one I could find in 2 weeks of searching....problem is the Figaro has the thin jap terminals so hard to find a replacement.

Made by Optima....not cheap at £130 vs £50 for a regular battery....but for infrequent use cars I've found that deep cycle is the way to go. The other option is trickle charger I guess...but that resulted in a battery exploding so I've gone off trickle chargers.

When it comes to carpness I think the Ryobi folding site saw might give it a run for its money, bought one as a stop gap once and took it back in two days as not fit for purpose and they didn't argue either I save a bit more ( quite a bit ) and got a metabo nice bit of kit.
