Take a hacksaw with you when you go to collect it .........
60hz may mean it's come off a ship.little odd that it's made for 60hz ? can;t imagine one being shipped in from somewhere running 60hz ?
anyway... not I need to buy a load of tooling for it :-o
No.Is he forgiven for breaking your coffee mug now?
Any area what taper it will be or how to find out?
Or wtf the guy I asked about tooling is talking about when he asked 'what taper is it, ??
I'm guessing he's asking about the spindle fitting?
First mill, I have no idea what I'm doing (yet)
:-o
Almost certainly a R8 taper.
Some Bridgeports had the Erikson Quick Change 30 taper but that was rare on a manual mill.
I was half tempted with that myself, only a few miles away but it sold before I could see my mate (man with a van)Not sure if this allow, but it could come under the heading 'I'm hoping to acquire' for someone - usual disclaimers etc

Super mate. Couldn't believe how much easier angles are with one until I got oneCouple of surface plates dropped round to me this morning
Small one is 18"x15" and big one is 24"x18"

Damn right. I'll be round to have a polite word if you do XI'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. But I have been told "warned" not to use it as a welding table
I keep my 24 x 24" C W oiled up under a wooden cover to protect it. They are massively heavy, it nearly killed me lifting it onto the bench!Damn right. I'll be round to have a polite word if you do X
Yeah, don't spark up with them as the return plate really. If you're careful then it's fine but if the metal moves against the plate (when it's a return) and you're welding then you get sparks against it. These can put nasty wee holes in it which sort of defeat the object.
Try making a wee box. Use it to square up the sides. See how much easier it is than those awful magnets. Rejoice in new love.
