Four rescue ex-battery hens. Here they are getting acquainted to their new mates but in a separate cage. In two or three days they will be able to mix with the others.
All our chickens are in the polytunnel for a few days due the bird flu outbreak while I build a run on the chicken shed so we segregate them from wild birds to meet Defra regs coming into force on Monday.

Lurchers only have "on" or "off".
They go from asleep to bouncing off the walls doing laps of the living room at 60mph, to back to sleep in about 10minutes.

Battery farms are probably unaffected apart from additional biosecurity and making sure wild birds can't enter the sheds. Free range chickens need to be confined to the barn until this is over. They are allowed to still call them free range eggs/poultry for a few weeks but if it goes on much longer then they can't. If any bird tests positive they cull the lot.

After our last mini flood we decided to ceramic tile the rest of our ground floor. The kitchen dining area was already done. My thoughts on usual style was it was too ' Mediterranean' for the whole house so we went for wood effect ceramic. looked quite in keeping with the rest of the decor and 90% of visitors "say" they thought it was wood . so it can work.

This is my small find.

First item from the skip.
Sad Tonker Tipper truck

A SIF Egg Beater drill. SIF is the Suffolk Iron Foundry, home of the famous Suffolk punch lawn mower.
This one was very nice.
It is a, to quote E bay: "Unique item and hard to find."
The Box wood handle unscrews, to store bits in.
This item was almost not found.
Stanley 400 Frame clamp.
Or, as it stands, a rusty door stop.
Then, one of two wooden box's.
A mix of odd tools, from Christmas cracker screwdrivers to a mix of good tools.
Plus a few more hammers.

Why would anyone put calipers like that in a skip / bin?
