You need to seal any cut ends with pva to slow the drying, otherwise it could crack!

Wish me luck, it will be the first time I have used an arc welder since the night classes which were almost forty years ago.
No time to play this afternoon as I am waiting for a kitchen fitter to arrive but tomorrow I shall be mostly burning rods.

Kitchen fitter was here for a hour or so then I had a hour running beads on the same bit of flat bar.
Not as bad as I thought it would be after all that time, I do think an inverter welder and auto darkening visor makes a big difference two things we did not have at night school in 1982.
2.5mm 6013 Gys rods at 85A on the Parweld tig. I will spend a bit more time tomorrow and who knows I might even join tow bits of metal together.

If we can't buy ourselves our toys occasionally, what's the point.
Bosch kit came out it was a bit hard on battery packs, my 10.8 GOP multi tool killed a couple of pack before I killed it with water, the 18V GOP is much better though not as nice as the Dewalt a mate uses.

I've heard a few say that the old multitools were battery killers. I've got one of the newer models, but not used it in anger yet. Need to get some more starlock blades for it. I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a decent quality starlock/ois adapter available, so that you can use both blade types on them.
I've kept all my old 18V Makita fitting gear, but I'm gradually building up the 12V collection, as the compactness & lighter weight make them far nicer to use, for my needs nowadays. The pin gun & sds are about the only 18V tools I've used since I moved here. They sit unused the rest of the time.
Just trying to convince myself now that I really don't need their drywall screwdriver.
The depth stop does make it seem appealing though. I've bought some tools which may only get used once in a blue moon, (like the shear), but I figure that once they're here, I've got them if/when I ever need them. Being stored away safely won't hurt them.
Walked the last 2km home. Too bloody cold for walking.

Received some MIG welding wire yesterday from R H Davey and I noticed this on the packaging; well played, whoever it was - genuinely made me burst out laughing! 
It was, quite admirably so, a recycled box so whether it was @Jim Davey or not we may never know!

Not me but one of my lads. He did it on a box that came in, without realising it would eventually go out. We’ve had a chuckle but agreed it’s probably best if the “customising” comes to an end

Such a shame that some may not find it amusing but do appreciate that as a business you have to be careful in today's society.
I found it most amusing and would happily buy your lad a beer and I genuinely hope I haven't landed him in any trouble!

My first import of the year no problems, ordered boxing day, landed here on 1st the stuck with royal snail for a week. Labled as £15 gaskets
Checked with a loupe as my last parting inserts from another seller were bad.
All good quality no bad edges. Interested to try the CBN's.
