That's the way I would go, I just assumed the op had gone down the solder road for a reason? Can you drill / cut out the current threaded part and weld in pre-made one?
When I pop my clogs I'd be happy for someone to clear out all my tools rather than them end up as scrap, that said I'd prefer them to be sold so my family can benefit .... but if I had no relatives I wouldn't want them scrapped.
Cast iron flat bottomed wok. Brand new and never been used. Got it for a whole £1 from a charity shop in Barnstaple
So......you either have or will be making a gas-bottle wood burner

Ere, what do you think you are doing!
You can't come down South and nab our charity shop bargains, I don't go upto Towcester and bag your bargains.
Indignant of South West.

Could be a planMissed or forgot those - all down to yours for a stir-fry then.......
there was a film in it as well.
I did the same years back at an auction [we call it a 'roup' up here]. Bid on a box of stuff and found a roll of B&W film in the camera, which I developed [had my own darkroom at the time].
The photos showed a family group on holiday in what looked to be Canada.
I'm in Barnstaple almost every other weekend and this is my first find
Plus your welcome to come to Towcester, after you've wasted some time to find nothing your welcome to mine for a feed and a few drinks
Pretty sure Wendlespanswick would be unlikely to find a cast iron wok in the Willen Hospice shop for a quid, or even a tenner for that matter.
Did something similar several years ago, bought a 35mm Praktica MTL3 camera on a boot sale stall for a quid, the wind on was tight and suggested there might be an exposed film in it, so rather than open the back to check, I rewound the film back into the canister, took a risk and got it processed and printed by a mail order firm, on return, the prints revealed a very full figured lady, topless and indeed bottomless in a field of wheat.
It hadn't occurred to me for an instant that the content would have been anything other than scenic/family/holiday snaps.
The photographs couldn't have been described as great art but were quite tasteful and I presume of the photographer's wife/girlfriend, sadly by then, neither my wife or I could remember the couple we'd bought the camera from, or what they looked like.
Not sure I'd take the same risk today but doubtless digital and the mobile phone has taken over from film and more or less removed any chance of that.
