But something I have had for a while, the mug as well.
But I am after some information.
What type of axe is it and a rough age?
I have bean told it is a "Fire Mans' Axe" or a "Roofers Axe" to a "Woods Man Axe". I lean towards a Roofers axe, but may be wrong.
How to you fit a shaft?
No hole in the top to take a wedge. I did have the remains of a wooden shaft, no wedges in it either.
The holes had bent nails in, I long ago binned them.
I'm sure it's a roofers hatchet. Choppy bit for cutting slates, little indent for pulling nails from under tiles and othe end for picking your nose lol
That axe I used for many years and still have a few We used them as Slaters but in actual fact they were originally termed a Lathe Axe.
They were used to put the timber lathe on to accept hair plaster. The blade chopped the lathe batten. We used them for concrete tile, long before Sthil saw came out. You basically hacked the tile to shape to go around soil pipes etc. You could slice big tile by taking a notch out of each end, then tapping the tile down that line, to break a cut for a verge. The mitres for hips and valleys were the trickiest.
All a long time ago.
It's out of an alarm system control panel, no label to say the wattage but not that big I'd assume.
5 amps out at 12v. No adjustment as far as I can see.
De-rusting tank ?
