I know. Still can't sit down from the stinging.
need to angle it and fashion a flange to bolt into my chimney. Rented property and I want to be able to take it out should I need to.
Tell me about itsounds like you are getting well shafted there mate
If its 3 " bore its no good for a stove flue, unless its a tiny one.
Any fire box smaller than 10" cubed is a waste of time for wood burning, in my humble opinion. And that needs 5 " flue.
Now that we're going off on this tangent in the thread, I've revised the plan I had a month or two ago regarding putting a small burner in the shed. Decided that with the farting about I'll be doing making a spot for it, it'll make little difference on space consumed if I just shove something larger in there instead, so there's a 47kg propane bottle which is going to be sacrificed. Going to fill the bottom half of it with sand, to both weight it down and to retain some heat once it goes out, and then just sit a piece of 4-1/2" thick wall steel pipe on the top of it and go straight out through the corrugated metal roof. It's sealing that bit which is going to be the pain.
The bottom of it won't get hot.
