A 1960's Pifco Car lamp.
Bloody things. I recall my Dad's one [round red top, so earlier? ] and being told to come help him in the single car garage located away from the house, so not much room and no electricity.
I was instructed to hold the lamp in a certain position pointing under the wing while he repaired/replaced whatever component needed fixing. You try holding a heavy lamp pointing to an exact spot for ages when your head is outside the 'target' area and you're pointing blind.
Not easy for a kid and tempers are getting frayed due to constant 'tutting' and repositioning..... You just knew you weren't going to enjoy tomorrow....
