Gortex doesn't seem to polish well.

Rather have warm dry feet.

I do dub leather boots a few times a year but polishing. Nah.

I got some fancy Goretex boots for work as our standard supplied ones where the cheapest they could find that must have just got by the S3 Saftey rating

Anyway thought I would polish them to keep them nice but it just blocks the leather making them a lot hotter and feet more sweaty , and it doesn't need to be waterproof leather with a goretex layer underneath so they just get the crap scrubbed off them every now and then

Been using a decent pair of YDS for the last 4 years. Don't wear them everyday so they've lasted really well

Ah, yes. Some of us went through a phase in junior high school when big horseshoe heel taps and toe taps/segs on penny loafers were cool. We liked the loud clicking noise on the terrazzo floors and how we could take a run and slide on the concrete. However, on some surfaces they were as slippery as snot on a glass door knob, and after getting more than my share of bruises on my elbows and keister, I eventually pulled them off. They looked like these:

Today I acquired a load of consumables from a chap I swapped a box of aircraft parts with after I had a clear out. Had quite a bit of stuff when it was all added up!

It was just under the 10kg RM size and this one was about the same.

The 2k adhesive has been obscured as it’s got a batch number on. Nothing untoward but it’s timex so should be destroyed.

He can use it all and I’m happy with my end of the deal so all good. I’ve also got a roll of leading edge tape coming but that’s in a separate package, apparently.

Yeah. I don’t like Clecos. I prefer skin pins, but they don’t do edge ones.

I’m impressed with these. Good for clamping while adhesive dries I would think.

Had to smile at the perfect description of steel heel plates & studs on polished smooth terrazzo floor or steps . Being on greased snot was our description .

In my early army apprentice days ( 1966 ) our first accommodation was on the top floor above A& B squads . This meant having to go up or down six flights of 12 steps and four landings and a hall way all done in terrazzo . Our " Ammo "boots had a pattern of 3 , 4 & 4 sole studs & an inset heel plate .
Several guys got seriously hurt as we were beasted up & down the stair cases by our NCO's to get on parade or out in a fire drill etc. or just for the hell of it.
A fair bit of Hazing & bullying the of the new entrants also went on where older 16 plus years old junior NCO's had their " fighting pig's" compete against their mates " fighting pig's " in all manner of almost medieval contests .

By the end of the first 12 week most of us in C squad who lived the top floor were able to almost skate down the lip edges of the stairs , grab hold of the banister and slalom ski style round to the next stair case to carry on the decent from the third or fourth step down . Imagine this happening with 30 apprentices on each floor all doing the same " ants nest run " four more times a day .
Being daft immature kids aged 15 to 17 we used to have competitions to see who could manage it quickest , One guy " Plonker Collier of C squad . IIRC " was able to jump the whole 12 step flight of each stair case & haul himself round on the banister for the next set , on getting to the ground floor he skied on his studs and heel about 20 feet right out of the door . He got caught one day , flying out the door almost splatting B company's drill sergeant .

Nah ... not so , they are used to skin the squizzers in a millisecond by liquefying the contents and sending it out of it's nose ... how else do you think we get perfect skins for stuffed squirrels ?

2 for the price of one .
They must be for cutting something very soft ( Butchers bone saw blades ?) , a deep cut in hard stuff would kill the top set of teeth

Picked up what I now know is a 'drum throne' at the recycle for £10.
Planning on using it as a garage scoot on wheels to save my knees!
Surprisingly cheap to buy new if anyone else fancies making one. Check out the price of a Stealey one!
