Rescued a load of rubber matting offcuts from a skip. Its the stuff thats used as a tennis court surface, its about 10mm thick, pervious ,spongy and ideal for laying down mats and truck beds. I grabbed what I could but there is still tons of it gone to waste.

Going to find a dozen and one uses for this, a mat in front of the lathe and mill is going to be first

Not really acquired, more like what I made, or started to make.
A down draft plasma table for demos.

Got a 12" ducting coupler to weld into the side of the box and a big twister fan to drag all the fume away. Looking forward to testing it out.

Clearing out my dads shed I found this old axe, it's made by Eagle and looks in good nick except a notch out of the end of the handle . I'll give it a de-rusting when I get my tank made up. I've also found an old battery charger and 18" round tank in his stuff
I'm moving house soon so shouldn't be collecting all this stuff but can't throw out all this good old gear!

I was awake, early this morning. The cat we are cat sitting for wanted attention.
So I pottered, turned the above two bits into something nice.

The head was dull and coated in some 'orrible and sticky.
The shaft was protected in a wax type stuff..

Using hand tools, no power tools at 6am. I am a nice neighbour.



The cutting edge was sharpened, nice steel in the head. Took an edge very well. Boiling up in washing soda removed the junk.
The shaft was dipped in boing caustic soda and you can see the results.

New wedges and all done.

Look at the shape of the (hickory?)handle, its made for using unlike some with straight handles,nice,and bet its good steel,a keeper eh
