Today I acquired...........

Today I acquired space!!!!!!!!
I now have 3 empty shelf's in thee workshop. Yes empty!!!!!!

It is stock take week, so I did a stock take. I looked at what I am meant to carry in my can, or have available.
I looked at what I have and cleared of 3 shelf's and returned them to the office.

I ask for 4 of something, stock staff send me out 4 of something will do ( no it will not) as they don't have what I need.
Or I ask for items for a job to be sent to site, they send it to me and the site.

The amount of over ordering or over stocking with my engineers meant a Traffic Master Van went to the office stuffed full.

Means my team are up to speed, excess stock is returned and we all have a nice cheque from the scrap man for our efforts.









Oh yes, I am planning to fill the space.

Wifey took the in-laws out for a wander round the villages today. She came home with this found in a vintage shop.
£12 and immaculate in original packaging with instructions.

doesn't sound like your bean company is run by bean counters, they would never allow that to happen

I have a method. I tell her a few times I want to buy something. Then I tell her I've found a good price. Then I buy it. When she says something I'll reply. I told you I found it for a good price the other day.
Works every time.

I can justify mine for the most. Earns my living for me. New table saw is next on my list. Old Clarke scares me but served its purpose. Have more need of one now so time to update.

Next time he does this, tell your wife............... "Its one of the tools I need to build your dad a coffin, and with the money we save, you can buy a dozen pair of Laboutine shoes ". Then you can watch his reaction and do the sniggering.

My Father in law comes over, when Mother in law lets him and brings him.
He has slowly brought his sheet metal working tools to me. He used to make air ducting and stuff, all by hand. His hammers, dollies and other hand tools are no good to me, as they have worn to his use.

One job he did for me was to dress the alloy body of a 1952 AC, round the "Trafficators". Were over the years people han hit the area to free the "trafficators" No paint was damaged.

But he will sit and do what all people of his generation point out my tools and how modern tools are not a patch on his old tools.

I have an old Clarke table saw. Comes in handy towards winter for cutting up pallets

Aye its usable. Use it for chopping board stock to width mainly. Sounds like its gonna take off though.

Got a load of sash window cills to make and I wouldn't dare run 100mm oak or iroko through it.

air saw from lidls ,i bought a silverline one years ago ,looks identical ,it too kept jamming, stripped it down and it was full of millings in the piston bore, gave it a good wash out with paraffin ,plenty of oil refit , bobs ur uncle works fine now. .
