Something's not right with that, you've got to do a turn before it engages. There shouldn't be that space on the front bit of the screw. Looks like it's been repainted, chances are it's not had the taper pin replaced to tension the screw again, it's an easy job and you can use a roll pin if the original is lost.

I've taken apart a number 2 before, it's fiddly dismantling them fully. There's another taper pin at the back of the base, knock this out first and the nut is dovetailed into the casting, you can use the screw (once unwound fully) to tap the dovetail out carefully if it is seized in place.

Ye it’s been repainted and I’m gonna clean it back to paint again I know it’s a bit off but I don’t mind il sort it when Iv more time got it cheap and it works so might just end up the welding one

I did not know what was in the box, it rattled, it was heavy, it was old, finally it was in a box of old good quality tools.. That's why I brought it.
I did not know what was in it.

.That bundled of "odds 'n' sods" was only £5.


I have sold the easy outs for £8.
The wooden bubble stick was sold as well for £10.

I did clean them up, a few minuets work.

But no 32mm wide wood chisel. I still blame you. You know who you are.

But I do have a van load of odd bits off hard wood , from the shop who I sold the bits to for £0:00.
The wood was remains of old furniture. All donated to Men In Shed.

The Ash shovel.
"Oh Bother" I said as I cleaned it up. "Oh dash darn it this tool appears to be a "Silverline tool".
But as a light weight Ash shovel it is not to bad. It looks like the last person used it to shovel out lime plaster, what was all but set, from a bucket.

A quick braze of the the crack, after dressing the metal back into shape. Wizz over with a wire brush.

The handle was removed, cleaned up, wax and oiled. New rivets, some odd ally rod I had.
All is good.



Oh byes we still are dog sitting Max the dog. He is grumpy, visit to dog dentist.

Thought it was oil cooled - seller clueless.
Bought unseen (but "working") for a tenner.

Apparently (according to the plate) it will weld 0.9mm/20swg sheet minimum and 9mm plate maximum.

Was it made by big3 industries
