I dropped my Burnerd three-jaw chuck and it rolled away! Thankfully it did more damage to the floor than it did the chuck, you can barely see a scratch on it!

They'll serve well as 'duckboards' in front of your machines - makes a huge difference on your feet/legs, much better than standing on concrete.

Easy enough to lift the tile, but if they hit rubber they immediately transform into a pingfeckit, never to be seen again - or until you're looking for something else, whichever comes sooner.

In the absence of the 'proper' stuff, the Costco tiles are a decent substitute - just means you can't weld inside.

Just ordered some 3M Peltor Optime III neck mounted ear defenders so I can use them with my JPS respirator cap and other head mounted PPE, not here yet. I currently have natural ear defenders, ear wax (now soaked in olive oil) so deaf as a post. I'm having my ears syringed on Monday so need to replace the ear wax with something else Just over 20 quid delivered.

They do a bluetooth version with microphone so you can stream music and answer your phone but pricing seems to be upwards of £500, £950 on Amazon At that price I would buy some noise cancelling Hi-Fi headphones!

Did you check aliexpress? Sometimes you can shave a bit off the price for unbranded tech straight from the factory.

Today I acquired a tidy Bode 500Kg welding positioner.
It’s been through the shop this morning ready for my first job for it Monday.
It’s going to divide it’s time on the rental fleet and doing demos on open root pipe welding applications.
Ive got a local client doing lots of stainless pipe for a water treatment facility and they currently TIG the lot but there is no x-ray and no procedure other than a visual from their end user so there shouldn’t be any barrier to converting them to MIG root and FCAW cap for a healthy time saving. Not that there’s any issue with MIG if there was an x-ray or procedure, it’s just harder to convert people if they have to spend hard earned cash on qualifying a new procedure.

First thing to do is to knock up an adjustable torch hand rest, then line up some pipe welding customers.

Some acceptence criteria check colour of root and haz this is where it falls down
I suppose its all about saving money and not having to pay proper welders

They are very effective arent they. The musicians appear to use something similar on stage but with either corded or wireless earpieces. I sometimes have to wear headphones for circa 48 hrs and they can be very unpleasant - I've other projects to take priority at the moment but I'd like to look into them sometime.

Just got back from taking it for a good run to get some charge in battery..

Lesson #2 Don't moan at how long your dad has to take it out to recharge the battery especially when he has given up his day to help you... The air was blue let me tell ya!!!
