Got these today, belated birthday present from the other half
A Gerber utility knife to replace my ancient and falling apart Swiss army knife. Not sure how good they are but seemingly they are a Fiskars company so should be decent and it was only £30 or so.
It will come in very handy as often I am walking up the pier from one job and get called onto a boat to look at another and the Swiss army knife often got pulled out to save me having to walk back to the workshop for a screwdriver or whatever.
It will also be handy for the Mig for chopping the Alu wire, only thing I would have loved it to have was a small file for the end of the wire before I feed it through the push-pull, may manage to add one myself though
Also got a steel rule, black with silver etching which makes things a lot easier to read for half blind ageing decrepit people like me
A bottle of thread lock to, well, lock threads but could also be hold my dentures in place, only kidding, don't have any of them yet
Lastly a couple of Guhring 13mm drills.

Ha ha well if I fit a file into the knife I am afraid that will be the one I remove to make space@Hood That knife has the most important accessory on it.....the bottle opener!

Today I acquired.
A roll of 2mm thick nitrile rubber. And a sheet of 6mm thick remnant felt. These will be used for my lathe way scrapers and oiler.

Bought some hard felt for my wipers. Found that stuff too soft.
Bought a few of these and carved to dimensions. The wipers I removed were compressed felt too.

The stuff I got is reasonably compact. Just waiting for some bright steels to arrive so I can set about making the scrapers

Metal Grate thing.
De-rusted, primed up and repaired.
Can anyone spot the new metal?
Bench back rest, settling into a de-rusting tank.
Recycled wood from the Gate grate, scrap wood and plastic liberated from a skip.
Early results look good in the de-rusting. The paint is a form or powder coating.
2 of the four seat frames now painted in enamel paint.
The tin was free, it was damaged from a local DIY store.
Yes underneath them is the tank holding the back frames.
The large wooden frame behind is the frame we made to de rust the seat ends.
But bad news.
I had to buy a box of assorted screws.
We had ran out down the Shed.
No mug for scale, I was using it to hold coffee.

Fred drift, but my maternal grandmother was a VERY victorian lady; Taught herself to drive in the early years of the last century. Any way, in the 60s, she let herself into her car in the station car park and was concerned that the key would not turn the ignition, though it had opened the door. Bloke knocks on window and points out that it is his car and... GM gives him a robust telling off for supposing that she would not know her own car? Except it was the same model and colour, just two rows away.....

I don't mind cheating if it spares me getting a dozen pairs of socks
To be fair though at Christmas I did get a heavy duty sack barrow and that was without any prompting from me, I was wondering though if it was a hint to start clearing up by taking stuff to the skip

Ha ha I think it is definitely beyond repair, it has been abused every day for probably 10 years and there is not much of it left.
Oh and I have no idea if it is one of them, all I know is it used to have red sides with the white cross but now has no sides
