One brilliant enjoyable bike and can handle through the twistes well for it's size/weight.

Even my old ZZR1100 could hustle along, give the required intestinal fortitude.... Sadly absent from my life until it gains a new crank and rods :'(

I missed out on the zzr 1100 and went straight for a 2003 zx12r and that was a rocket ship.
Had to get rid of it though as was far far too much for use on the roads as could get to seriously silly speeds.

Got my ebay purchases back home Man accepted my offer of £225 for the superdooper tube notcher with cutters and £75 for the flypress.

Cracking deal on the flypress! The hunton bolster is pretty much worth that on its own. Norton 4?

Clamp it on the cross-slide and pop a flycutter in the chuck.

Need to get yourself a more positive mental attitude.
Wrap some copper around your jaws on a 4 jaw to protect the gear.
Push the gear against the chuck with a fixed center in the tailstock to center and clamp it in.mcheck with a dial in the bore.

Solutions not problems.

One of these, as lusted after for a couple of years now - A very good good price, full service history, previous owner has been banned from riding, by his wife - had a 15mph oops and broke his wrist, ill wind blows every cloud that has a big black 1400cc lining, eh?

There was one of those parked for months in the car park at Canary Wharf last year gathering dust. Then the council put a 14-day removal notice on it, then 2 weeks later it was gone.
I wonder if the owner knows even yet that his bike is no longer there?

I didn't think about putting the dial in the central bore as that's the part I couldn't figure out

10 mins ago I acquired this and this is actually the first typing I have done on it.

A second hand Microsoft Arc keyboard from eBay for £13 delivered and working a bit better than the one it is replacing.

They are excellent small footprint keyboards for super clean and tidy workshop desks

The opportunity to avoid disaster, just in the nick of time.
Always check your oil pick-up strainer at least once in a blue moon.
I nearly didn't, reasoning this engine hasn't really got all that many miles on, barely 100K and I've never used excessive gasket gunk on it, nor was there any sign of previous owners doing so.
Goes to show what I know - it was half clogged. Tomorrow I'll have a closer look at what exactly the gunge is made from.
I also found a missing starter idler gear shim in the sump.
If I hadn't had it up on the ramp it would have been easy to not bother, as farting around on the dusty cold floor is less than inviting, and that's why I've never really bothered doing it in the past. Fortunately, the ramp makes it easy to just do it, and fifteen minutes later, there it was...

Top end off because of the inevitable * base gasket leak and took the opportunity to refresh everything - new rings, honed bores, camchain, seals etc. Measuring up the old parts revealed virtually no wear, so I might use them on another lump.

*asolutely guaranteed that a Suzuki GS lump will leak at the front left from 50K miles onwards. This had been showing signs of it for years, but I'd kept putting it off. Previous ones had never leaked after being treated to strip / rebuild and Hylomar. If only the factory had used a decent sealer on the base gasket, but it never affected the first or second owners.

Killed a VF400 by getting the strainer clogged up, I was young and foolish then, well that is my excuse anyway. Now I am older but likely just as foolish
