Today I got a file handle (for making a deburring tool). I also got some spanners for my collet drills. I've been using small normal spanners to tighten the collets in them, but these are the correct tool. They are sometimes called "Desoutter Keys".

I acquired a new laptop.

Dell XPS 9570, 6 core i7 processor, 1050Ti, 16gb ram, 512gb ssd.

It cost an arm and a d*ck but it's refurbished (Only mark on it is a scratch a couple inches to the left of the webcam) and with a student discount too I saved about £600 off a new one! It's replacing two desktops which will go on eBay to get a little more back. Currently removing bloatware and installing everything I use, a little bit of me wants to install Clover and OS X too.

My old laptop was a an 11" Ideapad 100s, made quite an improvement!

Last one I got was B&Q, but I also found them in my local hardware store.

Today I got another lathe tool, have been impressed with the SVJBR and L ones I got last week so decided to get a DDJNR for the manual lathe as I normally use a PCLNR for turning and I don't care much for them as swarf can get trapped between the insert and the work scoring the nice finish you have just cut.

This was a bit dearer than the earlier ones but still not bad at £30 plus VAT especially as it is a double clamping style.
