I might be wrong but I think it will be too low a pressure rating fro a compressor, bets to check the plate and check the internal surfaces for corrosion

I've had those accumulators apart & the steel is quite thin. In use I think they are normally pressurised at around 20-30 psi so a lot less than the 150 psi an air compressor holds! I don't think I would be using it for air while there are plenty of propane cylinders around for free!
No I can't remember exactly what there called except they have a bladder , with a charge of compressed air on one side and water on the other side . Used in water systems in conjunction with a pressure switch and a water pump or pumps , stops the pump cutting in and out too often . Combo boilers have a similar arrangement ....

As said above , I have a cut down 300 l one as an incinerator in the garden, rubber diaphragm, approx I bar on the air side, used in sealed cooling, heating systems to eliminate the need for a header tank, our cooling system had a working pressure of approx 3.8 bar , a header tank for that would have had to have been at least 38 metres above the system.
Not good for a lp air pressure vessel unless you like big bangs.

scrap yard gold today
a webb 18 and i even started it at the scrap yard and drove it to the scales the look on the guys face was priceless
also a screw compressor as its on its own im asumeing its knackerd and to get hold of the parts would be expensive so its this afternons entertaiment
im open to idears for what to do with the screws candle stick holders?
also a 750mm thrust bearing which iv had my eye on for a week took about an hour to split the machine it was on with a litle help from the handy crain driver
a webb 18 and i even started it at the scrap yard and drove it to the scales the look on the guys face was priceless

its a sigma 12 15 bar
and we are in
the surface of the screw dosnt look very good i could imagan it might have to be slightly rough to get the oil to stick like in a 2 stroke engin
but this is to unevean for that
