Plug out and WD-40, then light oil dribbled into cylinder. I also brought home this which the Seller had lying in his shed - for the princely sum of £10. New, unused and in a tatty box

According to eBay search, they fetch anything from £30/£40 [ongoing auctions for used] to £99 for new Buy-It-Now.
Don't suppose anyone has an Owner's Manual for one lying about? Or know which oil I should use when I change it. I have fully synthetic aplenty.
The next I have no idear what it is, but I liked it.

Looks like a paraffin heater. The window is made of mica and goes like that when its old and tired. It should be clear. You can buy it, there's a company in the Isle of Wight that sells it, if you google Isle of Wight and mica you'll find it. You don't need an exact size as you can cut it with a pair of scissors very easily.View attachment 82530 Trying my limited patient.
Got some more interesting parts as well today.
Mrs Vark claims they are more rubbish.
Oh well.

....Hopefully, I want to do it justice after getting it for the price. Mind you, I'm putting some new bits on her so it all adds up..... Plus, it's my OCD kicking in
Oooooh, is that calvados, or the even more lethal gnoll. I have no idea how you spell it, but it was pronounced nyoll. I remember the farmer across the road from us made it. I was told at the time that calvados was made by distilling apple juice, whereas nyoll was made by making cider then distilling it. Either way, it was lethal!View attachment 82616 View attachment 82615 40 liters of 39 year old 'calvados' locally known as 'Eau de Vie' aka the water of life (or death). Oak aged, I'm not really a spirits man, and Ive tried similar over the last twenty years, but this stuff is lovely/dangerous. The first evening a mate and I 'sampled' it I woke up with an aching hip unable to remember why. Fortunately I have the wife who thoroughly reminded me. This should last me years and years.
