We had a Clarks one down Men In Shed.

Very goo machine, we used to get our belts from Screw fix.

One down side was the machine screws holding it together, normally the fence. If you over tighten thenm they would strip out. I ended up using Riv-Nuts Inserts and that solved the issues.

You need to really clean any old adhesive of the disc sander, before fixing a new disc. If not the new one may not stick well.

Mine, buried under my bench I have converted it to take velco disc.

Walking the dog this morning I took an extended walk and ended up near(well in) some old small buildings. They have been striped years ago. Oddly there is not much vandalism.
But I found this.




This is after a tickle with a wire brush.

Back home after a long week away, made even longer by doing the weekly shop at Lidl in Stockton .

Final purchases made, and just about sorted for the upcoming dive holiday . A 24 litre coolbox to keep my dive camera safe while on the boat, (and hold a couple of cold tins if I get round to making a wee shelf this weekend ), a couple of shiny things for the spares box, and a new pair of “rock boots” to wear over the thin neoprene boot-socks of my drysuit, to replace my old ones which I left in St Abbs a while back and some objectionable sort has walked off with .

Today I bit the bullet and hopefully bought the Rolls Royce.

I'm fed up buying bits of useless junk that airlock, can't be bled, spew their contents out, don't screw together properly, quit pumping half way through, the plunger jams and are generally cheap awful tat.

Isn't that just the nature of grease guns in general? I bought a John Deere one which is very nicely made but i've yet to use it.

My father has a couple in his shed they must 40+ years old and still work perfectly, I've trawled the boot sales and only ever seen the tat ones.

I’m still using the grease gun my Dad used to use when he was a maintenance fitter at Paramo’s foundry in Sheffield.

I use it daily to keep my Hiab running smoothly, it gets looked after and it still works perfectly. Not bad considering that as Paramo closed their foundry in 1981, and Dad worked there for nigh-on 15 years, it’s probably in the region of 50 years old.

Interesting. Every one i've ever used has been rubbish. They work fine when they're new and have a full cartridge, buy it all goes downhill fast. My cheap nasty work one is rubbish, the end nozzle always gets stuck on too.

A broken bennet black widow to make a pair. needs new bands.

Excellent.
I have a couple of them, both bought decades ago when I had cars and vans with the odd grease nipple here and there. I think I bought the second one because the first one went hiding, as they do.
Now they live on the workshop wall, and I haven't used either of them for years. Always ready for some action, though.
