its a little clamping work positioning thing you've got 360° rotation from the base horizontal up to 90° on the arm and the arm is on a ball so that can do 360° as well, the web page said these can hold 75 kg at 300mm away from the centre of the main body

so you twist and rotate the job to where you want it use the handle to lock it and yer done

Today I acquired this. Now, considering I can barely get into my tiny workshop, some might ask why?

Considering I only want it to spread swarf around the workshop it's a bit of overkill, perhaps. It was £280 as well, but still a bargain I think. Ex launderette of all things.

Still, on the brighter side, the chap I bought it from repairs and refurbishes dry cleaners. He has a heap of pneumatic actuators and pumps that all need new seals, bearings etc. and doesn't have time to do them. I see a bit of pocket money heading my way

Now all I have to do is make my workshop bigger and buy a VFD for it.

You should see if you can get a bigger air receiver for it. I put my compressor outside, it helps with keeping the air cool, and gives you a bit more room in the shed.

You'd be surprised, i have a small compressor, and its a noisy little git, running anything for long its a nuisance banging away. When i got my bigger compressor that changed, i was using it today to run a spray gun and once full, it didn't come on again at all.

That was my driver for getting this. A friend loaned me a small Chinese piston compressor. Every time the damned thing starts it nearly stops my heart

Wee trip to the dump. Nice trade: I got rid of a carload of cardboard boxes and workshop rubbish in exchange for a Bosch cordless drill, boxed with charger (suffering a sticky switch but working!) and a nice big pair of stilsons (which will be treated to an electrolysis bath to clean the minimal rust off, then some new blue paint).

*edit* quick clean up, 24" Record stilsons! Will finish cleaning and painting after lunch

Id only this morning spoken to the mrs about this thread and "skip eyes" lol. Such a shame what people will throw away though, I also spied a Makita angle grinder, umpteen other drills (cordless and mains), and a Record no.6. Mental.
