Couple of years ago I saw a 110 v Hitachi planer in the litter bin outside Cash Converters, just needed new brushes, still use it today , one of my best tools.

Found a gift card from last year that was due to run out, i wanted a Japanese pullsaw to replace my damaged one but needed to make the order over the gift amount.

BobCAD were wanting stupid money for an upgrade so I will get 6 years of Fusion for what they wanted, assuming of course Fusion don't bump the price up.
It is a tool I use for my business so I have no problems with paying for it (within reason), it would of course have been nice to not have to but they seem to be slowing up on handing out startup licences so...

I have Fusion, but stupidly haven't done anything with it since I installed it. Joined the Facebook group for Fusion 360 users but haven't started to learn it yet. I don't enjoy focusing on VDU's like I used to, so think I've been putting it off and feared being rubbish at, something I need to tackle for sure this year.

I acquired and purchased a couple of things that I'm hoping will help me recently. Picked up a secondhand filing cabinet which I am now using to store my welding helmets in and happily have room for spare lenses and some marking out items.

Purchased the SDS Clic angle grinder flange nut from Bosch and so far I'm really happy with it. Used my first angle grinder maybe 15 years ago, never took up metal work past then but I remember hating having to mess around with spanners to change discs, only back then I had two use two spanners as my grinder didn't even have a spindle lock. Annoys me so little as changed until X-lock came along; which I'm keen to try, but can't afford for awhile. The Clic system just screws on over the base flange and tightens very easily, I do find it a little rough to open without a glove on, but its a simple turn to open with a gloved hand.

I use the Bosch SDS ones on the 9" grinders, love them. Don't bother on the 41/2" ones though as it is very rare I can not unscrew them by hand.

I've got one of these on my 9" Milwaukee grinder. The ratchet stripped so I can't change the blade, but that's ok for now as the diamond blade is still good for cutting concrete. Sometimes the old simple way is the best, as only a few extra seconds are needed to unscrew a nut, which has no moving parts to fail.

Depends we had a spate of Makita 9" grinders that kept locking the nut on.

You sure you didn't put it on upside down ?

I have been using them for a long time, probably 10 years and still the original on one grinder and the only time I had a problem with them was when someone put one on upside down and I had to cut it off with another grinder. Fairly recently someone else put one on upside down but luckily I was there and saw it and was able to stop them before they used the grinder and I managed to knock it back off with a chisel.

Regarding the standard no moving parts simple ones, they do have a moving part, it is called the key. All fine and dandy if you always are in the workshop where you have a set place for the key but being out on a job moving around a fishing boat and constantly having to try and find the key can be a pain.
