Yes it's in Standard mode. Here's aa link to t quick reference, it doesn't give all the parmeters but a lot of them.
Sounds really odd Pete - exactly half speed suggests something parameter wise but struggling to see what it might be! May of course just be faulty…Dial on the front. Yes I set FR1 to AIUI and FLo and FLoC set to No
Thanks for the help I've been sat here going through the manual a couple of times.
Ha ha well spotted!Right mystery solved, as expected it was a RTFM failure. The 50 was not a 50Hz but 50% of AiUi virtual reference frequency (percent of range from 10hz minimum to 50hz maximum range).
I figured this out after turning the dial down so the value was zero but the motor kept turning.
Ha ha well spotted!
There is a monitor menu where you can see what the drive is putting out - rfr I think is that actual freq it’s sending.
I use a cheap (about £5) usb - rs485 converter I picked up from Amazon, it works great. I should get a proper one from work really it’s just that this works - I use it for other stuff (pid controllers, Siemens drives, HMIs - all sorts…) as well so i don’t have to keep a dedicated cable just for these drives.Just a matter of being unfamiliar with the config. Thanks for the help.
BTW the FDTI thing is gone I must have thrown it out in a clear-up. I got it back around 2007 for reading/flashing ECU firmware to my turbo bike. I'll keep an eye out for a programming cable or converter because it looks like that software would make things a lot easier.
Another thing - I did put the parameters in for the 1.1kw motor then ran auto-tune but now the motor rattles and jumps about on the bench at about 25hz. It's fine low down and at rated speed it's just over a band of about 8-10hz it gets very rough.
Yes will do mate, it’s under a pile of junk in my office at moment but I’ll dig it out tomorrowI reset the drive again with no effect, then set the controls to external and wired in a fwd switch and speed pot. Now the rough running is gone on my test motor plus I can watch the frequency ref. It also works on my re-wired TOS motor but it's a bit whistly I think it might be simply because the motor is over-sized.
I'm getting to like these altivar drives could you send me that lik to the interface chip please and I'll make up a programming cable.
Just buy a decent vfd then you can do all the programming right on the unit?
