Good work, that's alot of hand scraping! Interestingly your step scraping technique is subtly different from mine, in that case I would have scraped 9, 9&8, 9&8&7 etc.
2 routes to the same destination. I guess your way you always know what you've done and what you have left.Good work, that's alot of hand scraping! Interestingly your step scraping technique is subtly different from mine, in that case I would have scraped 9, 9&8, 9&8&7 etc.
Fixed head are more or a pita but if there’s a swivel head or a sliding head then not too badThat is the crux of it. If you scrape X off something to make it correct and then have to scrape 2X off another part to bring it to its correct alignment, it is making work for yourself.
I wonder if anyone has ever made a comparison between the ease of aligning a Euro-style mill and a traditional knee mill.
cant see it any better than that out the factoryA final round of scraping and I have got this to a condition I don't think I can improve on. I set it up like this:

Here's most of what I use. Narrow scraper, cranked scraper, wide scraper, Biax with several blades and my small scraper fitted with a bevel scraping blade.can you show a pic of your scrapers, be very interested to see them
How much do you use the Biax?
Is it just where you've got a lot of material to shift or can you finish with it too?
