Your booby-traps are much too complicated. In that case I must be the most trustworthy person ever. I can only dream of walking up a clear space, on a level floor. To then have clear bench space must be the ultimate.
As it stands it's squeeze between the pub sign trying not to knock over the MIG bottle, hop over the "that'll come in handy one day" RSJ onto the split bag of blasting sand. Avoid the sharp edges of one Capri shell, duck under the two lengths of draped flexible conduit whilst trying not to impale myself on the lengths of trunking. All this done in the dark as the garage circuit is switched off at the mo and the head torch is temperamental. Whilst trying to avoid one of 4 wheel dollies that are meant to be under the Capri.
Generally as I back out in despair I hear a crash as the old washing up bowl of collected contactors slides off the Capri bonnet.
October 21 was the last time I worked at the bench in there:
How do you get the car in there on a night?
Ah the good old 5s! It’s always the first step I can’t get past, because sort is another way of saying getting rid of stuff you haven’t used for ages, and I can’t seem to get rid of anything. In which case it’s just as pressbrake said, an exercise in Tetris where if I turn this item 45 degrees, that’ll fit there then that’ll free up a bit more room there for something else! I dread moving, I’d need an arctic just to manage the the garage stuff!I need to do a 5C (or 5S) on the workshop. but It involves pulling everything out, cleaning and then sorting and putting everything back. That will take a couple of days on my own. The only space I have is the drive in front. If I do this, the scrotes will have a field day! The alternative, is to hire a Luton van, put everything in there, But that will cost a couple of Hundred quid.
I cant stand an untidy place, I think I must be a bit autistic or something.
Japanese5s? Assume it's a forces thing?
I'm fairly well organized and always tidy up after completing a project. I don't like working in a mess, but the above is currently my situation, constantly moving stuff back and forth to work on something. It wasn't always so, but as I'm retired now, I built my new garage/workshop to be a pleasant environment. I just need to finish our project house to shift our stored furniture out of the garage. Then I can set the shop up properly and have room for a couple of motorcycles................................................... an exercise in Tetris where if I turn this item 45 degrees, that’ll fit there then that’ll free up a bit more room there for something else! ...........
