A Japanese supplier invited me in for a tour, was a great company but a bit too rigid for meI look after some generators at a place that runs it.
For them it really works. I think if you use the good bits and use it in the right place then it’s handy.
They don’t have a massive central toolbox. They have a few tools near where they get used. No point having 8-24 spanners if the machine only uses 13, 17 and 19 for instance.
Like all these things it gets taken too far then unravels.
They had as you said the most common tools used near each station. It makes sense but unknown to me Iv done this for a while with spanners on hooks for gas bottles to save the keep walking around looking for bits
