I made a steel shaft thing.
The bit on the right, I'm trying to make a bigger version of the one on the left.
Managed to trigger the over-current protection of my inverter taking overly heavy cuts.
The hole in the top should be M18x1 but I don't have a tap so I used a 3/8" BSP leftie, it doesn't matter as I'm making the knob that screws into it too but I've just discovered I don't need extra gears to cut metric threads on my lathe so I'm gonna bore it out and do it properly.
Next job will be the socket on the other end of the bracket and a way to connecting them without showing off my dodgy welding.
