I made a steel shaft thing.

The bit on the right, I'm trying to make a bigger version of the one on the left.
Managed to trigger the over-current protection of my inverter taking overly heavy cuts.

The hole in the top should be M18x1 but I don't have a tap so I used a 3/8" BSP leftie, it doesn't matter as I'm making the knob that screws into it too but I've just discovered I don't need extra gears to cut metric threads on my lathe so I'm gonna bore it out and do it properly.

Next job will be the socket on the other end of the bracket and a way to connecting them without showing off my dodgy welding.

made a reducer for the down pipe of the upstairs toilet.
i broke the bowl mountings so buying a new one proved difficult to work with a high cistern.
the reducer has limited the amount of water so you dont get water splashing out of the bowl going everwhere

Daft question. not to say that way is more fun.
But could you not reduces the head of pressure in the cistern by lowering the float?

ahh your kidding me
i freely admit i know nothing about plumbing, how do i do that should i just bend the arm the floats attached to?
cheers though i do find any excuse to make stuff if i can.

Old cistern throw a brick in it.
Lol.

Newer style. Usually a threaded rod to adjust.

Fixed my indicator holder where I cut dovetails too big, glue would not hold the copper shim. Drilled then soldered a copper pin and glued in place.

Today I’ve been boring out a worn out kingpin bearing housing off some sort of tractor front axle that’s been “over greased”

It's ultra clean under there. 55 legacy GT. Imported last year and has literally just been fully degreased and jetwashed underneath and undersealed

To be fair the heatsheild you can see was painted with Silver VHT but it was perfect before paint anyway.

Mine certainly did. 05 forester. 2.3 I think.
Was lucky to see 20mpg.

Plenty of go when you prodded the noisy pedal though.

Nowhere near as fun as my 850 t5.

A new backplate for my 160mm 4 jaw.

The battery ran out on me phone so i dont have any pics of the process.
Very pleased with the chuck though has very little run out but it does seem a bit oversized for the lathe but it runs ok.

Good job, looks very nice. I really need to make a backplate for my smaller 4 jaw. So much procrastination!
