Just a thought - is there a danger that the dust would get mixed/suspended within the coolant and create a type of grinding paste? A good case for a magnetic filter if some sort I'd think.

I reckon That would definitely be a shout if running coolant all the time with cast iron. Most of the grit seemed to get stuck at the bottom of the tank, I didn't see any coming out the nozzle bit it may be too fine.

I'm due to change my coolant anyway so I was happy to sacrifice it for this.

This is an interesting little project, some Ally electronics cases. These are the first off testing the program (not yet complete) with one side machined so far.

It includes some high speed machining strategies and some 3D machining, (The half bore and half cone are 3D machined) finish machining, drilling and tapping M3. The holes are tapped M3 for scale.

The last image shows the part in the vice with the result of a planar roughing cycle, (Again, the half bore and half cone) which moves in the X, Y and Z axis, it gouges in the Z as it machines to produce the rough shape prior to finishing. You can see the gouging on the far wall in the last image.

Sadly, my stupid phone keeps updating its camera and i can't get the clarity i could, so the images don't really do them justice of how pretty they are in the flesh. I hope you enjoy all the same.

Eventually got round to making the cv joint adaptor to go onto my Tl1000r engine. Just need to make a broaching tool for the splines ,drill and tap the holes and it's good to go...

Been putting this job off for awhile. Thought it would be a swine to draw and machine. Pleasantly surprised at how quick and easy it's been. Left it finishing ,will have a look on Monday. If anybody wonders what it is,it's part of a tool for making rubber bellows...

I've been doing a load more line boring over the last few weeks and I've got my bore welder running sweet as a nut!

Is the welder building up the internal bore ready for machining?

Yes hood, I take a cut out initially to clean up the bore,make it round again and remove contaminants. Then I set the bore welder going to build up, then I let it cool and machine the bore back to the original size so you can use OEM pins and bushes.

Does the welder helix up or does it do a ring and step up and then do another?

This one is a helix, some of them are step feed , ive used both types and they both work well
