one more afternoon's work and we will have it finished. The smiley drawn on mouth is changing to an evil looking mouth and we have legs to add to the build as well, there is teeth to be welded to the inside of the mouth so when you open the door it looks like the devil has its mouth wide open, next weekend we will have it snorting fire !

I knocked up a bike stand. I could have bought one but I'm too tight and I'm enjoying practicing my new skill too much. :-)
With the track bike and extendy pole thing:
It's really nice and sturdy - it handled the bike with me bouncing around on top of it no bother. Just need to make a little add on to rotate the bike frame so both wheels are off the ground...

Aren't those weights made from cheap cast iron? I'm surprised they welded nicely.Is this a good enough weld?

They are more steel than cast, I was given that very helpful advice from one of my learned colleagues on here. If they were cast they would break easily if you dropped them

@Maker, yeah they are as said, nothing more than a mix of steel, very soft to cut, low sparks so must be high in iron imo, not that I am an expert, but they seem to weld ok with mild steel wire, I cut them in half :O then weld them on
