I'm pretty sure body weight has a lot to do with how quick boots wear out. Got little fellas at work around the 9 stone mark that swear by the same DeWalt Bolsters I'm now wearing. They'll get a couple of years out of them whereas mine barely last 6 months. I am circa 17 stone though. Lots of them wear the trainer type boots too which I can't stand.
A total aside but when Mum was alive and the dementia was kicking in she'd do some funny things. I was reminded when clearing Dad's shed at the weekend I found a beautiful pair of work boots. Leather, stitched sole made in England with "Size 14.5 - 15" stamped inside. None of this UK, US, EU size rubbish.
Mum bought them, ostensibly for me from a charity shop years ago. Unused still in the box. I'd forgotten all about them. Now they've had vermin nesting inside etc and in a bin bag for the dustmen.
"Mum, I'm a size 12".
"Well they'll fit somebody!" came the reply. Followed by "They'll be fine with a couple of pairs of socks!"
