Interesting comments....that was sliced with Cura 15.02 i stead of tbe latest version.Little dinosaur being nice enough would lead me to believe it's not mechanical though, plus due to the nice progressive acceleration on each axis doing circles I find they are one of the nicer finished parts. Definitely not pretty.
That said I just installed later Cura and first print is a bit pants - one thing though I accidentally used 60mms not my usual 50.
This is why I hate upgrading things that work. Though I would give it a try but turns out maybe no benefit.
As above i used a different version of cura BUT i did have to clean the hotend due to blockage caused by too hot settings in the old version of cura i installed. It wanted to print PLA at 240 with a bed of 70.Think there lots of options for that, to fast print speed, loose drive belts. Bed or hot end not moving smoothly. Also looks a bit under extruded
Oh no...something else to learn about chords and exporting.I bet that facet look comes from the STL.
The pics from thingverse looks the same.
On a cylinder triangles won't be visible but it will be faceted if chord height is set too large when exporting to STL.
what is it??This is a bit poo but does work when supports removed
the curiosity will get to youwhat is it??
I looked but still cant tell...thats why i asked. Lolthe curiosity will get to you
I have decided that its way way easier using a lathe...lol.PLA is generally accepted to go a bit past 60 degrees so 60 is a safe angle so the results are expected
ABS apparently tolerated less
STL doesn't contain any printer info
Early cura I am still using
Later one too many setting and clearly from finishes they need tweaking as don't suit mine.
I think on issue is between settings (defaults if you like) and preferences (the stuff you configure that you prefer. I saved my old cura profile and imported it and it still messes with stuff and pointed out there the preferences deviated from settings.
E3d print heads are popular. They do an E3d lite. Trouble is you now don't have the ability to print the carriage parts for the E3d lite.
Consumables just load up from Ebay or Amazon and get a selection of colours in advance.
I will get the later Cura sorted, just not yet...…………… and sometimes if the existing tool does the job I don't need to waste time on the later software.
