Problems with Volkszone deal

Hi, just a warning so that others don't repeat my mistake with the offer;

I was looking to set up the deal back in October, tried to get hold of Justin but couldn't so spoke to another sales person. I spoke of the volkszone deal and it sounded as though he recognised it and that I was going to get the discounted hobby rate.

Turns out he'd just given a smaller discount on the standard rate and now I'm being invoiced for £100!

AND, since I'm questioning the amount and haven't paid in the meantime, I'm now being charged a £15.00 late payment fee!

I'm sure it will get sorted eventually but Life would be a lot less hassle if it'd just gone right the first time.

So, anyone who's attracted to the deal just beware, make sure it's the volkszone deal you're getting.

Initially when mine was set up I was billed for the full rate. A quick call to Justin soon had it sorted.

Has anyone renewed yet at the end of the two year deal?

Mine is due any day now.

Just checked it was due to renew on 9/12/11. So I guess the invoice will be arriving any day now.

Argoshield light size Y for £34.15 + VAT = £40.98 inc VAT.

Got mine too. Gone up by a few shekels I think, no doubt due to the VAT rise.
Still a fair price though.

Can some one do a recap on this offer pls...do you need an existing account etc? Currently paying £19 per month to air products for the pleasure of rental, which went up from £14 after a few months because i hadnt had a refill. Its gonna be either this offer if i can get it or something like this linky, and AP can use their bottle(and remaining gas there in) as a suppository.

No you dont need to be an existing account holder, I rang up the BOC main number and just asked about the Volkszone offer and they then sent the paper work out.

About £35ish rental and about £30ish for gas for a Y cylinder - bargain.

Hi, just to confirm this offer is still on and works 100%.

Here's the details I received from BOC:

"Argoshield Light Size Y (bigger than an X)

Cylinder size (20 litre water capacity)
filled to 230 Bar Pressure
98cm x 20cm
40kg approx

4.8 m3 of gas (4800Litres)

will weld for approx 8 hours continuous at an average flow rate of 10 lpm

£ 24.48 + VAT per refill for gas
£ 34.15 + VAT rental for 1 year (refundable pro rata if cylinder is returned early)

total for 1st cylinder should be £ 70.35 all in (gas + 1 years rental)

with no other extra charges"

I called 0800 587 5868 and asked to get a new account set up with the Volkzone offer... they emailed through the paperwork which you sign then fax/email back. Then they call you back to say you're good to go.

Picked up my bottle from my local dealer in town.

One thing to watch, I'm used to the bigger bottles with a tap operated valve, these Y size bottles have a square thing you need a simple key to turn. I didn't realise and had to buy a key from BOC, would probably get one cheaper off ebay or something, but I wanted to get started straight away.

Very impressed with BOC too, I called on the first day back after new year and had my bottle within three days. The guys on the phone were all spot on and very helpful.

thats good to know :P will need to phone up and set one up and keep my c02 for farting about lol also does the yearly rent for the bottle got up after the first year or stay as it is?

I too can confirm that this is still working

Unfortuanatly i had already picked up a brand new bottle as i was in desperate need of gas as i had a couple fo job to complete in a rush.

However via email i contacted justin and he told me he had made the amendments to my account and once i took the exisiting bottle of Argon Universal back to trade for a Ligt bottle my account would be credited for the years rental i had just paid and it would switch to the half price rate.

They are not all bad really.

No, just "Argoshield Light"
Also has to be a "Y" sized cylinder.

Hi All
I emailed Justin at BOC just before christmas to see if the offer covered pure argon no, just co2 argon mix.
He did say that they are hoping to start offering cheap rate diy argon but could not say when.

Got this setup with minimal hassle. Just wondering how the first pickup goes, do i just turn up quoting acc no and they invoice me for the rental and gas(had to give bank details etc for DD) or do i have to pay first rental and gas to shop when collected?

I collected mine on Thursday, just gave over my account number and they rang BOC to add me to their system and I walked away with the bottle. No charges at all as BOC will bill me next month.
