BOC and Volkszone - Gas Offer

What am i doing wrong?

I cant seem to talk to anyone at BOC who are really acknowledging the offer for argonshield. I emailed Justin as the previos posts have suggested but have not got a reply as yet. I also rang BOC on the number that was also previously posted (sorry cant remember who posted it). The person I spoke to didnt really confirm the offer but said they would send the forms out to me (wouldnt email) but also as yet not received anything. What am I doing wrong?

I still have the forms in electronic 'PDF' format which I can forward onto you (pm me your e-mail address), then just mail them back on the fax number enclosed.

Give it a few days and you should get a letter in the post with your account number, and option of direct debit (if you didn't fill that option in on the form).

I have found that they're not the fastest to respond to e-mail enquirys sometimes, but were very helpful on the phone when I called.

Well I've picked up a nice Y size cylinder of argoshield today, very happy!
Only charged me £65, rather then the £69 quoted on the account form, so I'm one happy bunny. I hadn't realized how heavy they were, neither did Dad! I think the first project will be a cart for it.

Ha ha despite the label they are far from "Light" bust by back and lost a month of work because i lifted one wrong! so trolley is a good idea

Looks like they are considering extending this offer to argon.

I am considering a TIG in the near future and would also be very interested if they offered a 'volkszone' deal for pure argon.

Maybe we need to get a list of people interested from here and say 'we have 'x' number of people interested in pure argon if you are willing to do us a deal'.

Worth a thought ?

At the moment BOC have no acetylene production facility in the UK.

A new production plant is being built in Immingham which should be on stream at the end of 2012.

For the moment all their cylinders are being filled and shipped over from Europe

Here's the details I received from BOC:

"Argoshield Light Size Y (bigger than an X)

Cylinder size (20 litre water capacity)
filled to 230 Bar Pressure
98cm x 20cm
40kg approx

4.8 m3 of gas (4800Litres)

will weld for approx 8 hours continuous at an average flow rate of 10 lpm

£ 24.48 + VAT per refill for gas
£ 34.15 + VAT rental for 1 year (refundable pro rata if cylinder is returned early)

total for 1st cylinder should be £ 70.35 all in (gas + 1 years rental)

with no other extra charges"

Gone up £5 since june 2011 when it was £22.77 refill £31.95rental total for 1st cylinder £65.66 all in but still a good price.

Going to swap onto it myself at the weekend i think, even if it means loosing my nice light size x cylinder (19kg rather than 40)
